Seven centuries of architecture and grandeur
A timeless blend
of history and elegance
Located directly on the main square in the historic center of Kutná Hora, donebe Hotel & Private Wellness stands on the site of the city’s former town hall.
The building reflects centuries of architectural development in Kutná Hora. Its oldest parts, the cellars and ground floor, date back to the 14th century, while its grand classicist appearance was shaped during renovations in the mid-19th century.
A house with our own signature
In 2025, we completed an extensive renovation that brought new life and new purpose to this impressive historical building. Our goal was to preserve its unmistakable spirit and character.
We personally oversaw the renovation process and paid great attention to every detail. From the first sketches to the final interior design, every decision was made by us and carefully considered in order to respect the building’s history. We believe that because of this careful restoration, donebe doesn’t just offer a place to stay, it provides an experience that stays with you long after you leave.

Every Room Tells a Different Story
Hotel donebe offers ten individually designed rooms, including two private wellness suites. Each room has its own unique atmosphere, colour palette and character.
Original architectural features are paired with handcrafted furniture, custom cement tiles and carefully selected natural materials that connect the building’s history with a contemporary aesthetic.
Every detail was designed to create interiors that feel calm, timeless and personal.
Historic Details, Contemporary Comfort
Throughout the house, we carefully restored many original features, including hand-painted ceilings, oak parquet floors in the traditional Viennese cross pattern, stone portals, vaulted ceilings, historic doors and the original staircase.
New interventions were designed with respect for the building’s character, allowing the original architecture to remain at the centre of attention.
Clean lines, natural materials and subtle colours create balance throughout the interiors, while glazed walls preserve a sense of openness and light.
Art as a Bridge Between Past and Present
Contemporary art is an essential part of the donebe experience.
One-of-a-kind commissioned sculptures and paintings by contemporary artists naturally complement the historic interiors, creating a dialogue between past and present.
Rather than overpowering the space, the artworks quietly complement the overall atmosphere of the hotel.
